I'm so excited to be part of the Veterans Elementary team!
A little bit about me... I was a classroom teacher for several years, and taught 6th grade at Bimat Elementary in our district, before taking my present position as Director of Vocal Music. I earned my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Liberty University, and my multiple subject credential and music credential, as well as my Masters in Education from Point Loma.
I have a great passion for singing! I've been a vocalist most of my life, and a vocal coach, and choir director for over 25 years. I've travelled with an international singing group, and have spoken at music conferences and workshops in other areas of our state on how to develop children's choirs in churches and community groups.
This year, I am teaching class music Bimat Elementary, and directing 5th and 6th grade choirs at all the elementary schools in our district. In the afternoons, I teach 7th and 8th period choirs, as well as the after-school advanced ensemble, Vocal Harmonix, at Norris Middle School. I am thrilled to combine my two favorite things-- teaching kids, and singing great music!
