Hello to all Band Members and Parents/Guardians!
My name is Jared Dalgleish and I am the band director at Norris Middle School and Veterans Elementary School. This is my sixth year with the Norris School District and I couldn't be more excited to meet you all and work with returning students as we create another great year of music making!
For those of you who do not know me, I am originally from Wisconsin. I received my Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education and Trombone Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. I then attended graduate school at Western Michigan University and received my Master of Music degree in Trombone Performance with an emphasis in instrumental conducting. I previously taught middle school choir at Rosedale and Freedom Middle School in Bakersfield and then taught a semester of college trombone, euphonium, and tuba students at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point as an Associate Lecturer of Low Brass. I currently play trombone in the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra as well as teach the college low brass students at CSU-Bakersfield. My interests outside of music include cheering on the Green Bay Packers, exploring the outdoors, and watching movies. I am beyond excited to return to the Norris School District and I look forward to making beautiful music with the Norris band students. GO EAGLES!
