All About Me
Hello parents and students! My name is Abby Baker-Lizaola. I am the Classroom Music, International Cultures, and Music Appreciation teacher at the Norris School District. I am married with two amazing daughters who love music just as much as I do. I graduated from CSU Bakersfield with a degree in Music Education and am currently finishing the credential program at National University. In addition to my undergraduate studies, I am also Kodály Level 1 certified. Zoltán Kodály believed that music education was deserved by all. He formed his own comprehensive approach to teaching music. The Kodály method uses a child-developmental approach to sequencing while introducing skills according to the capabilities of the child. The method utilizes rhythm syllables, solfege, and lots of fun dances and games. Your child will also be exposed to a number of musical genres, instruments, languages, and more on the Music class course located on your child's Canvas dashboard. I am so looking forward to teaching your children and cannot wait to share the JOY of music with them!
