number one in the morning Nick makes eight animals out of clay and the afternoon he makes some more clay animals all together he makes play animals so how many did he make in the afternoon this is what we call a change known that means I know I see that he start is 8 animals and then at the end all together he made 15 total I'm looking for an afternoon how many set he made so he added some more in the afternoon but I don't know how much sun is I know that it's a no problem a lot of the time see the word son that means unknown to me and that's what I'm looking for so I know the beginning I know the ending number how much the number change in the middle I don't know so it's change unknown so Nick starts with 8 then I have to see if he's adding some or subtracting some will he he's making more of them so if you're making more of them you're getting more of them so I'm going to add some more some and then I know all together he has 15 so if I'm going to change this into a math Mountain you're adding two numbers the biggest number is going to be last so I know my total at the top is 15 I know one of my numbers is 8 I'm looking are the other partner attracting down the mountain or you can start at 8 and count it 2:15 there's a couple different to find it sometimes I have the kids if they want to they can draw out 15 circles and if it's cross off eight of them and then count how many are left you can also punch count they punch eight nine 10 11 12 13 14 15 and they can count up that way or you can even write an eight and then draw circles up to 15 9 10 11 12 13 14 you got to go back and count the circles that you're going to get the other part that was missing 7 more and thats 15 total self 7 and it says how many did he make we're talking about making clay pause so7 play animals and that say change unknown problem
